Combustion temperature and pressure can be insufficient to effectively burn lubricating oil entering the combustion arena, creating the potential for carbonised injector nozzles, heavy carbon build up on valves and seats, fouled turbo charger and loss of cross hatching on the cylinder walls. To offset the effects of low loading, annual loadbank testing for a healthy duration is recommended as part of planned maintenance.
